Kitana is a character in the Mortal Kombat game franchise. She was introduced in Mortal Kombat II and is one of the main characters of the series gaining much prominence. She is a daughter of King Jerrod and Sindel.

Background 

She is the former princess of the realm of Edenia, Kitana was raised as the daughter of King Jerrod after the Outworld emperor conquered Edenia and forced Kitana's mother, Sindel, to become his queen. Kitana was one of Shao Kahn's top assassins but was never as bloodthirsty as he preferred.

When Kitana learned that Shao Kahn was creating evil clones from her DNA in order to replace her, Kitana rebelled. She fought on the side of Earthrealm against Outworld's invasion and died defending it. Her soul was collected by Quan-Chi , who created an evil "revenant" version of Kitana. She now serves Quan-Chi and the Netherrealm.

When Kronika brought Kitana's past self, she fought Shao Kahn and killed him, becoming the new emperor of Outworld.

Powers & Abilities

• Fighting Styles:
  • Eagle Claw: Gripping techniques system of joint locks, takedowns and pressure points.
  • Ba Gua Zhang: Wide techniques suck as kicks, joint locks, throws and distinctively evasire circular footwork.
• Air Manipulation:
  • Fan Lift: Kitana uses her fans to make the opponent levitate helplessly in the air.
  • Square Wave: Kitana leaps in the air with her back facing the opponent and uses her fans to launch and slam herself into the opponent or attacks incoming foes with a flying punch.
  • Bounce Back: Spinning in a tornado, Kitana reflects all projectiles thrown at her back to the enemy, and they keep their original properties.
• Longevity: Edenians possess extremely long lifespans which allows them to live for thousands of years.
• X-Ray(MK9): Kitana launches her fans. If it hits or opponent, it will teleport backwards and stick the files on the opponent's neck, damaging him and his neck. She teleports back in front of her opponent and picks up the files. Then it lodges its opposing, damaging eyes or skull in us. 
• Xray(MKX): Kitana attacks the opponent and then, when the opponent is not in the air, it throws its closed fans in the throat of the same damaged one. Soon after, Kitana catches or there is no opponent and with the file handle afterwards to the other side. Then Kitana removes the fans and gives a knee blow to the skull.
• Brutalities:
  • Off the Top: Jumps on her opponent with a Throat Slice and slices their neck by opening her hands, decapitating them.
  • Biggest Fan: Performs Rising Blades, slicing her opponent towards four times with the fourth time splitting the opponent in half.
  • Back That Up: Jumps and does a Square Boost, venting herself right into the opponent with enough power toi blow their upper half apart, only available in the Royal Storm Variation.
  • Lost Girl: Lunges at Opponent with an Assassin Impale,, stabbing the mouth and then the neck. She then violently pulls out the lodged fan, which decapitates the opponent, only available in the Assassin Variation.
  • All Is On: Does a Glaive Throw aimed at the opponent's head, lodging it in their forehead.
  • Right Back At Ya: Uses Bounce Back to reflect an enemy projectile back to them and mimic their brutalities.
• Fatalities:

  • Fan Impalement: Kitana throws both fans on the enemy's torso, killing him. 
  • Fan Opener: Kitana uses her fans to cut her opponent's arms before cutting her head at the jaw line when they fall to the ground. 
  • Splitting Headache: Kitana drives one of her fans on the opponent's body and opens it, cutting the front. She then does the same on the head. 
  • Dark Fan-Tasy: Kitana throws her two fans, closed, on the opponent's head and chest. She opens both fans at a distance, cutting her fingers, the top of the head horizontally. Using her Fan Lift, she raises the remains of the opponent and disperses the body parts of the screen, leaving behind only the hands and the scalp without fingers. 
  • Splitting Hairs: Kitana spreads her fans and uses them to cut her opponent's hands. The opponent frantically looks at her missing hands while Kitana jumps on them, wrapping her legs around her middle and hitting them on the back. its fans open to the opponent's open mouth and skull and leaves them while his head slowly separates into 3 pieces. 
  • Royal Execution: Throws both her fans, with one chopping off the opponent's head and the other their waist, cutting them into three pieces. They spin in place for a while, then the one in their waist flies back to Kitana, who kicks it into the opponent's forehead.
  • Gore-Nade: Kitana uses her fan to slice open her opponent's stomach, disemboweling them. She then spins in place rapidly, creating a tornado that sucks out their guts.

Equipment 

• Steel Fans: Her trademark weapons, mainly used for killing Tarkatans, these blades can cut through flesh, bone, metal and pretty much anything that an opponent is made of.
• Flying Blade: Bladed throwing weapon, similar to Tanya' boomerang
• Bō: Japanese long staff, used for Bōjutsu.
• Triblade: Also called Cyclone Thrower.
• Sai: Pronged dagger, andcan be thrown or used as a melee weapon.

Alternate Forms

• Revenant: A state of undead that Kitana remains after being revived by Quan-Chi. It just follows the orders of the Netherrealm emperors.

• His strokes are capable of throwing Goro in the air.
• Kitana was able to cut off Shao Kahn's face.

• She managed to dodge Shao Kahn's blows.

• She managed to get Baraka and the Tarkatan army to join her.
• Defeats Mileena, Smoke, Johnny Cage, Jade, Kollector, Skarlet and Baraka.
• Killed Shao Kahn.

Weaknesses 

• Has been defeated by younger fighters, like Liu Kang and Sonya Blade.
• Has died twice, the first time being in the Battle of Armageddon but was revived, and the second time being turned into a Revenant.
