Oliver Queen, better known as Green Arrow, is an archer from DC Comics, first appearing in 1941 in More Fun Comics #73
Background[]
While the details of his origin depend on which Oliver Queen you look at, the best known origin involves a young playboy billionaire who lost his parents at a young age to a tragic accident [1]. Blaming himself, he became a reckless, thrill-seeker with no sense of responsibility nor direction. All that changed when he took an arrow to the knee fell off a cruise ship and washed up on a desert island. Forced to fight to survive, he honed his archery skills. This fight for survival taught the once spoiled "prince" self-reliance. While stranded on said island, he discovered it was being used by drug smugglers. Ollie took out the smugglers, and upon returning to civilization, embarked on the journey of becoming the Emerald Archer; the Green Arrow.
Powers & Abilities[]
- Acrobatics: He has displayed on many occasions that he is an expert in acrobatics, and often uses this skill while evading enemy fire.
- Archery: First and foremost of Oliver's abilities is his prowess with a bow and arrow. Since his teenage years, Oliver had a natural skill in archery. He can use anything from the most simple bows, to complicated composite bows and trick arrows with full efficiency. He has even shown skill using a bow made of alien technology. Oliver's aim is so great that he is able to ricochet arrows multiple times to take out groups of opponents. With the aid of Green Lantern, Oliver was able to snipe an assassin on the moon, using a bow construct. Oliver has fought opponents that normally couldn't be hurt with arrows, yet his skill allowed him to persevere.
- Aviation: Though he rarely, if ever, uses it, Green Arrow owns the
BatArrowplane, his own personal jet. He has shown his piloting skills while commanding other vehicles. - Firearm Mastery: Although not his preferred weapon, Oliver is very skilled in the use of firearms. He has displayed great accuracy with handguns and machine guns. He was even told by Deathstroke that he handles himself well with firearms.
- Hunting: Archery is by far Oliver's preferred method of hunting, however, the ability to hunt comes from years of training, patience and survival. He is proficient enough in hunting to pursue a cougar without it ever noticing.
- Martial Arts Mastery: He is proficient in several forms of hand-to-hand combat including Judo, Kickboxing and Karate. Proclaimed as a martial arts master, he has shown the ability to take on seven people at once. He spent several months dedicated to making himself a better fighter and trained with many of the world's finest martial arts teachers and even went through training from Natas, the same person who trained Deathstroke.

- Stick Fighting: Oliver has shown to be a highly skilled stick fighter, capable of wielding both bo staffs and eskrima sticks with mastery. He has also used his bow as an improvised staff in combat.
- Peak Human Condition: s a result of his rigorous training over the years, Oliver is at the upper end of natural human abilities. He uses a bow with a 150-pound draw weight, which has built up his strength over time. Wildcat took notice of this during a boxing session with Oliver. While riding his motorcycle, Oliver was strong enough to use the forward momentum to flip it and hurl the bike at an enemy.

- Compound Bow: Green Arrow has a customized bow with a draw-weight of 125 pounds.
- Trick Arrows: Green Arrow carries a large amount of trick arrows, each with different function.
- Standard Arrow: Green Arrow often employs standard wooden arrows with a 75 cm to 90 cm shaft, steel heads and plastic fletching.
- Boxing Glove Arrow: This was a customized trick arrow outfitted with a life-size boxing glove in place of an arrow head. It was arguably one of Green Arrow's most often-used trick arrows.

- Phantom Zone Arrow: Superman once possessed a special blue arrow that opened a portal into the Phantom Zone. Speedy (Roy Harper) stole the arrow and hid it in his possession for many years. He eventually gave it to his successor, Mia Dearden, to use against Superboy-Prime.

- Flash Grenade Arrow: This is a customized trick arrow equipped with an incendiary tip.
- Glue Arrow: This is a customized trick arrow with a ball tip containing a highly reactive, fast drying, industrial polymer. It is designed to look like an explosive arrow (i.e. grenade, flare, stun grenade) and is used to subdue stronger adversaries who mistake it for an explosive device which cannot harm them.

- Humanity: Despite being in the Justice League and doing many super human feats he is still regarded as a regular human, and can be killed by things that could typically bring down a human.
- Arm Pain: Ollie's left arm can sometimes cause him pain due to an old injury. He once took an arrow to his left side, chipping his bone which never healed properly.
